Dom Arquitectura accomplished a powerful historic farm rehabilitation within the japanese Pyrenees, on the border between France and Spain. The small village of La Cerdanya is surrounded by fields and meadows the place agriculture and farming are the primary actions. Breathtaking views of the hilly panorama make this plce a pure paradise. The shopper commissioned Dom Arquitectura to transform a haystack, a barn, a warehouse and a small home right into a welcoming house and a number of other visitor pavilions.
The architects stored the volumes of the prevailing buildings, rehabilitating their facades and roofs and redistributing all inside areas. The previous haystack is now a big open area for socializing. It has been renovated protecting the previous trusses that supported the roof. Inside the home, a number of rooms and visitors dwelling areas have stone partitions, wooden coating and iron parts preserved from the previous buildings. “The concept was to create giant areas, the place the environment views grow to be a part of the inside”, defined the designers.
