This lovely three-storey picket cabin designed by Andersson-Wise Architects is situated alongside Lake Travis in Texas, United States.
Description by Andersson-Wise Architects There are a number of small limestone cabins from the 1930’s situated alongside Lake Travis, the longest of the Highland Lakes that terrace the hill nation west of Austin, and they’re used primarily in the summertime. One such cabin sits on a slope rising from the water beneath a cover of native oaks and cedars. It had one giant room, a bit sleeping room, a kitchen, and a porch dealing with the water. Our shoppers requested two further bedrooms with baths and a dwelling space for bigger teams to collect. We selected to find the brand new sleeping quarters in a separate tower. Two small bedrooms occupy the primary and second flooring. Above, a 3rd degree terrace opens to a panorama of the lake and distant rolling hills. On this terrace, some thirty ft above the bottom, even the most well liked summer time afternoon may be loved underneath a roof open to the prevailing breezes blowing in from the lake. The unique stone cabin is now juxtaposed with a vertical tower of wooden, rising up out of the forest and into the brilliant Texas sky. The Tower attracts you as much as see the lake, barely seen at floor degree via the thicket of timber.
